Air NZ announces the purchase of 15 new ATR72-600 [fr]

On Thursday 5 November, Air NZ announced the purchase of 15 new ATR72-600 for a total value of 345 M€. In 2012 the airline announced it would add to its ATR fleet. To date, seven of these aircraft have been delivered with the remaining seven due to join the fleet by mid-2016.

The 15 new aircraft will begin arriving from late 2016.
Four of the new aircraft will allow for further growth on regional Air New Zealand routes while 11 will replace the airline’s ATR72-500 fleet.

With this delivery, Air New Zealand will operate a fleet of 29 ATR aircraft, the third largest ATR fleet in the world.

Throuh this announcement, Air NZ reaffirms its close partnership with ATR Aircraft.

Toulouse, Southern France based turboprop aircraft manufacturer ATR is the world leader in the market for regional aircraft up to 90 seats.

Established in November 1981, ATR is a joint partnership between the Airbus Group and the Italian Company Alenia Aermacchi (a Finmeccanica company).
