Bastille Day: Radio interview with Ambassador Jeanblanc-Risler on Radio NZ
On Tuesday the 14th of July, Ambassador Florence Jeanblanc-Risler was interviewed by Paul Brennan from the “Afternoons” show.
H.E. Mrs Jeanblanc-Risler, who this year celebrated her first Bastille Day as Ambassador of France to New Zealand underlined the importance of “le 14 juillet” for the people of France, particularly French people living overseas, and also spoke about her ambition for a “creative revolution” in the relationship between France and New Zealand, with the two countries marking this year their 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
“As an Ambassador, there is a sense of creative revolution that I want to bring to our bilateral relations; whether it is on global issues like within the UN or within our Pacific region, whether we look at climate change - one of the most crucial issues nowadays - or whether we look at our economic relations, where we can release the potential of our economic partnership.”
