LabCitoyen 2015 call for applications*
*Please note: the 2015 call for applications is now closed.
The new edition of LabCitoyen is looking for a kiwi candidate to represent her/his country in Paris in July 2015. Last year, Julia Reynolds was selected, and debated on human rights in the Digital Age in Paris (see her testimony HERE).
LabCitoyen is a mobility programme for young people offered by the Embassy of France in New Zealand in partnership with the Institut Français. In 2015, it will be centred on the theme of human rights in the era of climate change. LabCitoyen’s aim is to promote French as a language of debate and action in the context of today’s major issues.
The programme is open to young people from all over the world aged between 18 and 25, who are fluent in French, are active in the field of human rights and/or environmental issues, or intend to pursue a career in this area. Studies in law, political science and journalism, and strong interests in climate change, environment protection and human rights are particularly relevant.
Application for 2015:
New Zealand nationals or permanent residents who fulfil these criteria and who are interested in taking part in the programme are invited to apply. The selected candidate will participate in an exciting programme of activities taking place in Paris from July 5 to 15 2015, including debates, lectures, visits to relevant institutions, meetings with personalities, in addition to attending human rights and climate change related cultural and artistic events.
The 2015 programme will particularly focus on the consequences of climate change on our societies and the associated threats on human rights, in view of the United Nations COP21 in Paris. The LabCitoyen selection committee includes experts in human rights, environment protection and French language.
If you would like a chance to take part in this unique experience and have an opportunity to create contacts with young people from around the world who share your interests, complete and submit the application form below by Thursday 2nd April.
