Launch of COP21: France commits to climate action [fr]

With less than 100 days to go before the Conference, the Head of State, François Hollande, chaired the event “France commits to climate action. Go COP21!” on Thursday, 10 September 2015 at the Élysée Palace.

This was a crucial opportunity to show the strength and unity of the French team in the final stage of preparations for the Paris Climate Conference (COP21) in December.

France will play a leading international role there, to ensure that views converge and facilitate the quest for consensus within the United Nations and within the European Union, which plays a key part in climate negotiations.

The French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, President of COP21, made a speech during this event and answered questions from the young participants. Nearly 400 people were invited to the official launch of COP21. Highlights included a presentation of the first images of the Le Bourget site and the unveiling of the COP21 stamp.
