Our mandate is related to the international dissemination of contemporary French creation and cultural and creative industries, specifically in the visual arts, digital arts and cinema; support to the circulation of French thought and ideas; development of the French language in the New Zealand educational system but also through the Alliances françaises network academic and scientific cooperation through the development of partnerships between higher education institutions and joint research projects.
Support provided to New Zealand partners includes advice and expertise, networking with French partners and institutions, as well as financial support.
These priorities are implemented in relation with the Institut français, a national agency supported by the French Ministry of Foreign and European affairs for promoting French culture abroad and Campus France, another agency dedicated to international mobility and promotion of studies in France.
Any cooperation project must be planned well in advance. Our budget planning usually occurs between September/October of any calendar year for projects starting the following year.
