Five very well deserving students from Victoria University’s French Department have been awarded prizes by the Embassy of France to New Zealand.
During a ceremony organised by the University on Wednesday the 8 of September, Thomas McKenzie, Cruz Johnson, Jeremy Riddle, Joy Lancaster and Sam Humphrey were awarded medals from the French Institute ’la Monnaie de Paris’ and books. These awards were presented to the students by the Head of the Cultural and Scientific Section of the French Embassy. This prizegiving, which aims to encourage the top students of the French departments of New Zealand universities, is part of the policy of promoing the French language and culture organised by the Embassy’s Cultural and Scientific Section.
